Welcome to The Quireboys

Welcome to The Official home of The Quireboys

The Quireboys are set to storm 2013 with a series of UK dates planned and the band are currently working on a brand new studio album which will be released early June.

As I’m sure your all aware, The Quireboys were formed in 1984 in London, England. After two successful independent singles (including the Top 40 “7 O’Clock”) and supports to the likes of Guns N Roses, Sharon Osbourne was appointed as manager and The Quireboys were signed to EMI for the release of their debut album, A Bit of What You Fancy.  The album entered the UK Albums Chart at No. 2 and was compared favorably to British rock names such as Rod Stewart and The Faces. The album was produced by Stewart's musical director and guitarist Jim Cregan.

In support of the debut, the Quireboys toured for the next year playing with the likes of L.A. Guns, Soundgarden, The Cramps, Iggy Pop and The Rolling Stones. The long touring schedule was finished off with a gig in Japan at the Tokyo Dome on New Years Eve in front of 50,000 people. A live album was released following this long touring, entitled Recorded Around the World. 1993 saw the band release the follow up album, Bitter Sweet & Twisted and run support to Guns N Roses on their "Use Your Illusion Tour", before going hiatus only to reunite for a series of exclusive shows

The band have experienced various line up changes along the way, but have still maintained a loyal following across the globe.. A more permanent reformation came just after 2001 with front man Spike, guitarist, Guy Griffin, Guitarist, Paul Guerin, and Keith Weir on keyboards that, to this date, remain the back bone of the band.. The band then released This Is Rock'N'Roll in 2002, followed it with Well Oiled in 2004 and 2008’s  Homewreckers & Heartbreakers . The yet untitled new studio album will be produced and mixed by the legendary Chris Tsangarides ( Judas Priest, Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy), who promises a modern sound with old school values.

Fast forward to January 2013, The Quireboys appointed marketing and festival guru, Jonni Davis as their new manager as well as signing a new worldwide deal with Off Yer Rocka Recordings. 2013 can be classed as the next generation for The Quireboys. With multiple festival appearances, The Monsters of Rock Cruise now under their belt, a European Headline tour and three planned releases, things are ramping up in a manner that will put them back where they belong…on the Global playing field.

So get on board for this new Rock n Roll adventure

It really shouldn’t be missed and we cant wait to share it with you

See you on the road

Spike, Guy, Paul & Keith

Beautiful Curse … 7th new studio album on the way from The Quireboys, via Off Yer Rocka Recordings, as well as a World Tour kicking off in the UK this October.

It’s hard to believe that The Quireboys have been doing their Gypsy Styled Rock n Roll for 29 years now. Since the early days when Mrs Osbourne held the reins, The Quireboys have played in front of millions of rockers worldwide as well as selling the same over the last 6 studio albums. They’ve played nearly every major festival worldwide, supported Guns n Roses, The Rolling Stones & Bon Jovi on major events, collected more air miles than Branson and have very recently, finished their 7th studio album which is sounding nothing short of incredible.

We are now pleased to confirm they will be commencing their “Beautiful Curse World Tour” in the UK, with a selection of high profile dates around the country before heading into Europe. The Quireboys, will be joined by Swedish Rock n Roll Rebels Bonafide, who will also have a new studio release out in September as well as a DVD in July. Opening support will be by Bad Touch.

Beautiful Curse, which has all its artwork themed around The Hispanic festival, “Dia de los Muertos” ( Day of The Dead), will be available everywhere, digitally and physically on 1st July 2013. Twelve special tracks, tackling every style, The Quireboys have ever deployed plus some new twists, that should guarantee some satisfaction to the horde of fans that have been starved for the last few years.

Spike, Guy, Paul and Keith have all marked this as the best thing they have done since the legendary “A Bit Of What You Fancy”, back in 1990. Add in the incredible production talents Of Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore,) down at The Ecology Rooms in Dover plus the legendary Simon Hanson (Squeeze) being added to the Rhythm Section, and you can easily see why we are all excited.
